Maui nurse honored for service to the Red Cross

BARBARA LEE — Red Cross volunteer

The Maui Office of the American Red Cross presented Barbara Lee with an American Red Cross Nursing Pin on Oct. 24.

Lee has been an active Red Cross volunteer for 10 years, serving the Red Cross and Maui County in the role of disaster health services lead. The presentation included remarks from Red Cross Advisory Council Members Craig Tanaka, Nicholas Winfrey, and Dr. Lorrin Pang.

The pin, presented by Dr. Pang, is a symbol of service and a proud Red Cross tradition, honoring the contribution of nurses who provide valuable services to their community.

Lee’s service has included volunteering during tropical storms Flossie (2013),

Iselle (2014), Ana (2014), Hilda (2015), Ignacio (2015), Darby (2016), Lane (2018), and Douglas (2020). She was also deployed to Texas in 2015 for tornado relief and to Paradise, Calif., in 2018 for the Camp Fire.

The Maui County Office of the American Red Cross thanked Lee for her service, her volunteerism, and her response to the perpetual call to serve the mission of the Red Cross.
