Hawaii Nature Center unveils new programs
The Hawaii Nature Center will offer new programs for 2021 that include expanded programs on the weekends, more school break camps, the continuation of its weekday offerings and opportunities for small group nature encounters.
Upcoming weekend experiences for children ages 3 to 5 and their parents include “Something Fishy” on Jan. 23, “Incredible Insects, Bugs and Spiders” on Feb. 6 and “Makiki Quest” on Feb. 20. All three experiences begin at 10 a.m.
The cost to attend is $10 per adult or child for members and $15 per person for nonmembers. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Limited reservations are available. To make a reservation, email hnc
firstname.lastname@example.org and include the participating adult’s name, child’s name and age and a contact phone number.
For HNC’s weekday Outdoor EDventure Days, parents can purchase a two-day program within the same week. Led by environmental educators, the programs offer nature encounters, project-based teamwork, instructional discussion, hands-on craft activities and physical activities like hiking, meadow exploration and aquatic habitat discovery. All programs have been designed with an emphasis on health and safety.
Cost is $110 for members or $140 for nonmembers for the two-day program with full-day and half-day options. For more information or to enroll, visit hawaiinaturecenter.org.
