Maui Food Bank receives $20,000

Even though the pandemic caused Wailea Resort to cancel its popular biannual Restaurant Week Wailea, which raises funds for the Maui Food Bank, the resort was still able to make a $20,000 donation recently to the food bank.

“This year, due to the pandemic, and with our resort restaurants being closed, we were unable to host the dining promotion in May and November,” said Bud Pikrone, general manager of the Wailea Community Association. “However, having proudly supported the Maui Food Bank since we began this popular dining promotion in 2009 and with the Maui community in need, especially as the holidays near, we wanted to continue making a contribution to the Maui Food Bank.”

The event has taken place for the past 10 years.
