Maui celebrates Women Build Week
Habitat for Humanity Maui and Lowe’s celebrated International Women Build Week from March 8 to 15 with the mission of raising awareness of the challenges women face in accessing safe and affordable housing, particularly amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s International Women Build Week was held virtually in more than 300 Habitat for Humanity locations in the U.S., Canada and India.
As part of the weeklong event, Habitat for Humanity Maui Executive Director Sherri Dodson and Maui County Council Member Tasha Kama discussed the importance of access to permanent housing and supporting women and families.
Their discussion was captured in Habitat for Humanity Maui’s 2021 Women Build video, which also highlights the many contributions women have made to help local families achieve affordable homeownership.
