Seabury Hall to host SAT/ACT prep classes

Seabury Hall will host SAT and ACT prep classes on Wednesdays and Sundays from Jan. 30 to March 9.

The cost is $420.

Scholarships open to Native Hawaiians

Seabury Hall is now accepting applications for the Maunalei Hawaiian Ancestry Scholarship, which provides four years of full tuition for a new and entering ninth grade student.

The deadline to complete the application process and submit all application materials is Jan. 31.

Maui United Way gets $15K donation

The Matson Foundation has contributed $15,000 to Maui United Way’s 2021-22 fundraising campaign.

The funds will be used to support education, health and financial stability programs in Maui County.

“Maui United Way is overwhelmingly grateful for the caring support of the Matson Foundation, as well as the employees’ contribution, which allows us to provide much-needed support to those in need here in Maui County,” said Maui United Way President and Chief Professional Officer Nicholas Winfrey.

AAUW to host paratriathlon champion

Paratriathlon national champion Erica Davis will discuss the challenges faced by paraplegics during the American Association of University Women Maui Branch’s virtual meeting at 10 a.m. on Jan. 22.

Davis, who lost the use of her legs at age 24, was a high school teacher on Oahu. Now living in California, she teaches virtual adaptive fitness classes at the Adapt Functional Movement Center, Carlsbad. She was the first female to summit Mount Kilimanjaro as a paraplegic in a wheelchair.

The meeting will begin with social time at 10 a.m., followed by the business meeting at 10:30 a.m. and the guest speaker at 11 a.m.

Waldorf high school to host open house

Haleakala Waldorf High School will host a virtual open house for prospective students and their parents from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 29.

Attendees will meet faculty members and learn about the school and its curriculum.

Club hosts Rotary Health Services chair

Maui Rotary Health Services Committee Chairperson Allan Weiland will be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset’s hybrid meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 1.

He will talk about the committee’s history and its activities.

The meeting is currently scheduled to be held in person at the Royal Lahaina Resort’s Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant and on Zoom.
