Maui Economic Opportunity staff joined the Molokai Community Resource Fair on March 19 at Lanikeha Community Center in Hoolehua.

Community Services Director Cassi Yamashita and National Farmworker Jobs Program Manager Dee Kahuhu flew to Molokai to join new Molokai Branch Manager Mahie McPherson and Napua Bicoy from Early Childhood Services on Molokai.

The event was sponsored by the Molokai Homestead Farmers Alliance with the goal of preparing the island for emergencies with residents learning about services and resources on the island. The alliance is a group of homestead farmers who advocate for the protection of water rights, food safety, agriculture and other issues.

MEO had two tables at the event and received lots of queries about the agency’s programs, including the senior discount Red Cards and Business Development Center offerings.

For more information about MEO’s programs on Molokai, call (808) 553-3216.
