Little League season gets underway
Warren Suzuki, father of major league All-Star catcher Kurt Suzuki, throws out the ceremonial first pitch during opening-day festivities for the Central Maui Little League at War Memorial Complex in Wailuku on Saturday morning. “It’s so refreshing when you see the younger kids playing baseball,” Suzuki said. Central Maui officials said that they have 43 teams and 600 children playing this season, which runs through March.
