Pavement striping will prompt alternating lane closures on Mokulele Highway between North Kihei and Kamaaina roads this week, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Work will be done from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

The DOT also announced the following work and lane closures for Maui County roadways:

* Honoapiilani Highway will experience lane closures in the northbound direction between Napilihau Street and Nakalele Blowhole from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today through Friday for road repairs.

* Road maintenance will cause alternating lane closures in both directions of Hana Highway between Huelo Lookout and Keanae Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday.

* Utility installations will prompt a lane closure in the westbound direction of Kaahumanu Avenue between Hana Highway and Wharf Street from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

* Honoapiilani Highway will be closed in the right lane of the southbound direction at Kaanapali Parkway from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. today through Friday for manhole repairs.

* The left lane in the eastbound direction of Hana Highway between Garden of Eden Arboretum and Keanae Road will be closed 24 hours a day for roadway improvements.

* The left lane in the northbound direction of Kuihelani Highway between Honoapiilani Highway and Puunene Avenue in the vicinity of Maui Lani Parkway will be closed 24 hours a day for paving work.
