Democratic Party to hold convention
The Maui County Democratic Party will hold its annual convention Saturday in the Maui Waena Intermediate School Cafeteria.
The convention will begin at 1 p.m. with registration starting at 12:30 p.m. The cost to attend is $10 until Friday and $15 at the door. Online registration is available at www.MauiDemocrats.org.
State Sen. Gil Keith-Agaran will share updates on the legislative session and a new Maui County chairperson will be elected.
On Friday, state Democratic Party Chairman Tim Vandeveer will host a free meet-and-greet for Democratic Party of Hawaii Executive Director Laura Nevitt from 6 to 8 p.m. at Giannotto’s Pizza, 2050 Main St. in Wailuku.

Summer Fun Guide deadline is Friday
The Maui News will be publishing a Summer Fun Guide of activities for children and teens on April 9.
To have an activity included in the guide, submit the following information: Name of program and for what ages, sponsoring organization or business, program times and dates, location of the program, description of program, cost of the program and contact information.
The deadline to submit information is noon Friday. Year-round programs will not be accepted for the guide.

DLNR conducting hunting survey
The state Department of Land and Natural Resources is conducting its annual statewide hunting survey.
The purpose of the survey is to assist the DLNR’s Division of Forestry and Wildlife in improving game management in state hunting areas, including for the upcoming season. The division manages more than 1 million acres of state land and its game management program includes hunting of 16 species of game birds and six species of game mammals.
To participate in the survey, go to the the division’s hunting website at dlnr.hawaii.gov/recreation/hunting and scroll down on the right side to “Survey.”

The results of this survey will be published on the division website.
