Message for graduates

Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard gave the keynote address at Kihei Charter High School’s 16th commencement ceremony at the Maui Nui Golf Club in the Maui Research & Technology Park on Friday. More than 600 people attended the ceremony for 51 graduates of the only public charter school on Maui. Gabbard, whose district includes Maui County, urged graduates to “remember aloha always.” “The road ahead of you is not an easy one, and it’s not always fun,” she said. “I guarantee that obstacles, challenges and hardships will come before you. Sometimes people may not treat you the way that you want to be treated, but there’s a lot that you can do. You can control your attitude, your actions and the way you treat others. We have a special gift here in Hawaii, and that is aloha.”
