Levee repairs underway

Heavy equipment operators work Thursday afternoon on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project to repair 4,000 linear feet of Wailuku levees damaged by flooding of Wailuku River in September 2016. Repairs to the flood control project will start near Imi Kala Street and continue to the outlet of the stream at the ocean. Work on critical aspects of the repairs is planned to be completed by March 1.
