Real property tax assessments mailed
This year’s real property assessment notices have been mailed or emailed to property owners, the Department of Finance’s Real Property Assessment Division announced Wednesday.
The notice shows the taxable value of an owner’s land and improvements, the amount of exemptions, the exemption recipient and the property classification.
Property owners should carefully review their assessment notices and contact the division in person or by phone at 270-7297 with questions. If they do not receive their notices, they should contact the division by phone or view assessment information at www.mauipropertytax.com.
If property owners disagree with the assessment, general land class or exemption shown on their real property assessment, they may appeal with the board of review. The deadline for filing an appeal is April 9.
Also, the 2018 assessment notice gives taxpayers the option of receiving an electronic notice for 2019.
