The brown-water advisory for Hanakaoo Park in West Maui has been canceled, the Clean Water Branch said Monday.

The advisory was posted Aug. 13.

A brown-water advisory remains in effect for Honomanu Bay in East Maui. It was posted Aug. 2 due to stormwater runoff from heavy rain flowing into the bay. The stormwater may contain material from overflowing cesspools, sewers and manholes and may have animal fecal matter, pesticides, dead animals, pathogens and other debris.

Not all coastal areas may be impacted by runoff, but if the water is brown stay out, the Clean Water Branch said.
