Property owners have until Sept. 30 to file complaints of assessments of county properties.

The county Board of Review will decide whether to include the complaints in reports to the mayor and County Council. The complaints should focus on instances where the finance director did not use proper methods for assessing properties.

This process is not for appealing assessments; the board cannot change any assessments during this process.

Complaints may be filed with the Director of Finance, Real Property Assessment Division, County of Maui Service Center, Suite A-16, 70 E. Kaahumanu Ave., Kahului 96732.
