Masons add another course of cinderblocks to the South Maui Community Park Recreation Center earlier this month. The 34,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to be finished by the end of next March. The recreation center is scheduled to have two basketball/volleyball courts end-to-end, with seating for 700 for the primary court and 320 for the secondary court. A retractable divider will be available to separate the two areas. There are also multiple restroom facilities, a commercial kitchen area, three community meeting rooms and outdoor community spaces, including an area to accommodate food trucks.
