Maui agency to receive $1M grant
Maui Family Support Services will receive a $1 million federal grant to support its Quality Care for Hawaiian Keiki Project, U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz announced Tuesday.
The project provides child care subsidies to Native Hawaiian families, Schatz said. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will award the grant.
“With this funding, Maui Family Support Services can continue to provide Native Hawaiians the access to child care that is so critical to working families,” Schatz said.
Founded in 1980, the agency provides family support services, including child care, support groups and life-skills training, on Maui, Molokai, and Lanai.
