After starting this summer, demolition of the old Makena Beach & Golf Resort, formerly the Maui Prince Hotel, looks to be nearing an end. All that is left standing of the concrete structure fronting Maluaka Beach on Friday was a section of the lobby of the once-luxury hotel. The old hotel is being methodically brought down and turned into recyclables by a crew from Northwest Demolition & Dismantling.
