Grading work is ongoing at the old Maui Lu Resort in Kihei, which will reportedly become a 388-unit Hilton Grand Vacations Timeshare Resort. When the old resort, which has its roots in the 1950s, was torn down in 2015, the developers said that the first phase of the three-phase $300 million project would be completed in 2017. However, little work was done on the 28-acre site in north Kihei until recently. This photo was taken on Nov. 30.

SECOND PHOTO: Hilton Grand Vacations spokeswoman Megumi Haubner on Wednesday did not offer more details about the on-site work, adding, “We should have more information to share in the coming weeks.”
