Topping off the tree

Maui Lighthouse owner Kirk Donaghy strings lights on a Norfolk pine on the property of Kihei Lutheran Church on Piilani Highway on Saturday morning. The tree was planted in 2006 in memory of Daniel Terluin by his parents, church members Zel and Margie Terluin. Donaghy said he also donated his time to string the lights on the 42-year-old pine at the Akina Tour & Transportation property on Alahele Place. That tall tree is visible all over central Kihei when its Christmas lights are lit up.
