A juvenile was arrested in connection with a brush fire in the area of South Maui Community Park in Kihei on Sunday, a fire official said.

The juvenile was arrested by police at the scene on suspicion of arson and later released to the custody of parents, said Fire Services Chief Rylan Yatsushiro.

The brush fire was reported around 3:45 p.m. Sunday near the park on Liloa Drive. When crews arrived, they found the fire of light dry brush burning about three quarters of an acre.
