WMTA to hold annual meeting

Updates on the Kahoma Village affordable housing project, the West Maui hospital and ocean safety efforts in West Maui will be discussed at the West Maui Taxpayers Association annual meeting beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Lahaina Civic Center.

Mayor Michael Victorino, West Maui residency Council Member Tamara Paltin, state Sen. Roz Baker and state Rep. Angus McKelvey are the elected officials set to appear at the meeting.

The speakers include:

• Kaloa Robinson, project manager for Stanford Carr Development, who will speak on the Kahoma Village project.

• Brian Hoyle, president of Newport Hospital Corp., which is developing the West Maui Hospital and Medical Center.

• Colin Yamamoto, retired county chief of ocean safety, who will discuss a rescue tube project.

• Pamela Eaton, planning program administrator with the county Planning Department, to discuss the West Maui Community Plan process.
