The art station was part of a daylong schedule of presentations, speeches, book giveaways, blessings and musical performances. Branch Manager Laurie Barker-Perez said the event was a celebration of community “because the community is such a big part of what we are and we are a big part of the community. We are a very important part. Public libraries are a cornerstone of a democracy.” Murray said she was a fan of reading. “I like the library, and the books, the unicorn tales, fairy tales and mermaid tales.”
