OHA workshops to be held on Molokai

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs will hold the next of its free, small-business strategy workshops on April 30 on Molokai.

The topic will be “Building and Strategizing Business Credit” and will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at OHA’s Molokai office at Kulana Oiwi, 600 Maunaloa Highway. Participants must RSVP in advance, as space is limited.

The “Maolipreneur” Community Workshop Series includes five Hawaiian value-based workshops aimed at helping those interested in starting a business or strengthening a current one.

“Maolipreneur is intended to provide entrepreneurship training that will help our island residents achieve economic self-sustainability,” said Gayla Haliniak, OHA community outreach coordinator on Molokai.

The next session will be “Financing Your Business and Determining Costs” on May 1, “Business Debt Stewardship and Utilization” on May 14, and “The Business Model and Revenue Streams” on May 15.

Maolipreneur is part of OHA’s I Mana Ka Lahui series, which are smaller community workshops tailored to meet the unique needs of Native Hawaiians in a specific area.
