Fencing to protect refuge complete this summer
Feral Animal Removal Experts LLC owner Greg Czar lines up the ram of a hydraulic pile driver as “fence guy” Hawk Prive positions a 10-foot-long, 8-inch-diameter post at Kealia National Wildlife Refuge on Thursday. Czar said the wooden posts were being used for a section of fence that runs through a wet, muddy area along North Kihei Road. The fencing designed to keep feral pigs and deer out of the refuge is on track to be finished by the end of summer. Czar’s company is installing 2.5 miles of stainless steel fence to complete the enclosure.
