Fire crews douse blaze near Peahi
Firefighters were putting out hot spots Monday in a brush fire that burned about 2 acres in a gulch east of Hahana Road in Peahi, a fire official said.
The fire was reported at 7:51 p.m. Sunday, with Paia and Makawao engine companies responding along with a Kahului tanker.
Passing showers and light winds helped keep the fire from growing, officials said.
The fire was declared contained at 1:02 a.m. Monday. The cause was unknown.
