St. Anthony Class of ’69 reunion

St. Anthony School’s first coed graduating class from 1969 will celebrate its 50th reunion at the school’s 2019 Ho’olaule’a at the Wailuku campus on Saturday.

The reunion weekend begins Friday at Tante’s in Maalaea and ends with a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Sunday at St. Anthony Church.

The Mass will be co-celebrated by former classmate Monsignor Terry Watanabe and former class adviser, the Rev. James Orsini. The Mass also will remember deceased classmates and recognize classmates who are military veterans.

Families of deceased classmates are invited to the Mass. Golden diplomas will be presented. Art Fillazar and Madeline Amoral Pruse are co-chairs.

Tickets for the school’s annual Ho’olaule’a are available by calling 244-4190 by Friday.


6-week series for cancer patients

“Yoga, Breath, Meditation,” a six-week series for cancer patients and caregivers, will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, June 25-July 30, at the J. Walter Cameron Center in Wailuku.

The class will be led by Christina Martini, licensed oncology nurse, certified oncology patient navigator, certified health and wellness coach, certified yoga therapeutic practitioner and educator.

Weight loss seminar at MMMC

Maui weight loss specialist Dr. Arthur Chasen will give a free seminar to discuss obesity as a disease, surgical options, risks and benefits, and lifestyle from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Education Training Room of Maui Memorial Medical Center.
