Two arrested at west side cockfight

Two men were arrested Sunday after Maui Police Department’s Vice Division Gambling & Morals Unit broke up a cockfight in the area of Olowalu Road in Lahaina, police said.

Joseph Kahana, 48, of Haiku and Jesse Laborte, 34, of Lahaina, were charged with second-degree cruelty to animals and possession of a gambling device. Bail was set at $400 each.
