West Maui CPAC holds first meeting
The West Maui Community Plan Advisory Committee will hold its first meeting on Thursday, kicking off the next phase of the West Maui Community Plan update.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Lahainaluna High School cafeteria.
Committee members will be briefed on the community planning process and the draft West Maui Community Plan. They will also adopt administrative rules and elect a chairperson and vice-chairperson.
All CPAC meetings are open to the public. Part of Thursday’s meeting will be set aside for public testimony on specific agenda items.
The 13-member committee will have six months to review the plan before it moves on to the Maui Planning Commission, which will also have six months to review it. The Maui County Council will then have one year to review and adopt it, according to the county’s Community Planning Process Handbook.
