Man posted plan on social media to ‘shoot up a school’

Police arrested an 18-year-old Kahului man Monday morning after receiving information that he posted on social media that he intended to “shoot up a school,” police said.
After receiving the information at about 5 a.m., Wailuku patrol officers contacted the man at his residence. He said he posted the statement because he “thought it was funny,” police said.
Police checked his residence and found no firearms and learned that none were registered to him.
He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and was transported to the Wailuku Police Station, police said.
His Twitter account showed a post at 2:56 a.m. Monday saying “might shoot up a school idk yet.”
