Mr. Paul Simon
Plays At The MACC
Paul Simon opens his Tuesday evening show at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s A&B Amphitheater and Yokouchi Pavilion with the song “Late in the Evening.” Simon, who is also scheduled to perform tonight at the MACC, is donating all of the net proceeds from the two shows to the Auwahi Forest Restoration Project and Kua’aina Ulu ‘Auamo. Tickets are still available for tonight’s show. Tuesday’s concert marked the first time Simon has performed on Maui, and his first Hawaii show since Simon & Garfunkel appeared at Honolulu’s HIC Arena (Blaisdell Arena) in 1968. While no longer touring, Simon has stated his ongoing commitment to perform the occasional concert and to donate those earnings to philanthropic organizations, particularly those dedicated to environmental welfare and to preserving species biodiversity.
