Visitor education topic of breakfast

The Maui Visitors Bureau will be holding an informational breakfast on Aug. 28 to discuss what it’s doing to address community concerns about the size and impact of Maui’s visitor industry.

Leanne Pletcher, director of public relations and marketing, will give a presentation on the bureau’s new Kuleana Campaign and a series of educational videos the bureau is showing to visitors on Hawaiian culture, astute renting, ocean health and ocean safety.

The breakfast buffet, which includes coffee and tea, will take place at the J. Walter Cameron Center in Wailuku. Registration is at 8 a.m., with the breakfast and presentation from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The event will include access to Maui Visitors Bureau management, as well as a question and answer session with Pletcher.

Pre-registration is required, and tickets are $22 per person and must be reserved by Aug. 26. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Maui Chamber of Commerce at 244-0081 or email eventsmgr@mauichamber.com. The chamber is hosting the breakfast along with the bureau.
