100th day at Mauna Kea marked

Protocol hula, oli and mele will be held Sunday at UH-Maui College on Sunday to mark the 100th day of demonstrators blocking the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope at the summit of Mauna Kea.

The gathering of Mauna Kea kia’i, or protectors, will begin at 5:30 p.m. — at the same time as protocol is performed at Mauna Kea. The gathering will be held on the college lawn.

Participants are encouraged to join in the protocol, stand with hae Hawai’i (flags) or attend in solidarity.
