Alaka‘ina digital bus
First photo: Alaka’ina Digital Bus education coordinator Dav Yuan demonstrates a bubbly reaction with dry ice Tuesday during the Ka Papa Ho’ike eighth annual symposium on environmental education at Kamehameha Schools Maui in Pukalani. The symposium drew about 70 formal and nonformal environmental educators from around the state and as far away as Alaska and New Jersey. The Digital Bus is one of two tricked-out mobile science classrooms on Maui and Molokai that supplement STEM curriculum at public schools. Yuan said he had a rotating curriculum of 15 projects suited for different grade levels and teacher requests.
