Members of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Dance Troupe perform a traditional Ilocano dance during Saturday’s Maui Fil-Am Heritage Festival at Queen Ka’ahumanu Center in Kahului.

The event held in conjunction with Filipino-American History Month celebrated foods, entertainment, culture, clothing and games brought from the Philippines to America.

Wailuku Seafood Center owner Maryanne Alibin dishes up a plate of savory Filipino food Saturday. She said the secret to what makes Filipino foods so tasty was easy. “We cook with our heart,” Alibin said.
