Man points gun at girlfriend, arrested

A Makawao man was arrested after he pushed his girlfriend to the ground and pointed a gun at her face Sunday night at their residence, according to police.

Raymond Naki Jr., 45, of Makawao was charged with first-degree terroristic threatening, abuse, failing to obtain a permit to acquire a firearm, failing to register a firearm, third-degree assault and interfering with reporting of an emergency. His bail was set at $15,000.

An argument between Naki and his girlfriend became physical when he punched her, causing her to fall to the ground, at about 10 p.m. Sunday, police said. Naki went to another room and got his handgun, then pushed his girlfriend to the ground, chambered a round into the gun barrel and pointed the weapon at her face, according to police.

Officers arrested Naki at the residence.
