Red Cross seeks volunteers
The American Red Cross is recruiting disaster volunteers for Maui, Lanai and Molokai.
“We need our communities prepared for disasters before they occur. One critical piece is to have trained volunteers on standby and ready to respond,” said Michele Blair, Red Cross Maui County director.
From hurricanes to house fires, the Hawaii Red Cross responds to disasters statewide every four days.
Those interested in becoming a Red Cross volunteer, should go to redcross.org/hawaii or call the Maui office at 244-0051.
The Red Cross is a nonprofit humanitarian organization which provides assistance to meet the immediate emergency needs of those affected by disasters. Red Cross assistance to disaster victims is free; it is not a government agency.
