Chinese snorkeler in critical condition
A Chinese visitor in her 40s was transported to the hospital in critical condition Wednesday after she was rescued at Honolua Bay, the Maui Fire Department reported.
Responding to the 11:47 a.m. call of a possible drowning, a lifeguard brought the woman to shore aboard a rescue watercraft, where firefighters and medics were waiting, the Fire Department said. The woman was assessed and transported by ambulance to Maui Memorial Medical Center.
She had been snorkeling with a traditional mask and snorkel, according to the Fire Department.
