Fire burns storage building in Kula

A storage building containing farm materials and equipment burned in a fire Sunday night at Kula Agricultural Park, according to the Maui Fire Department.

The 2,500-square-foot building was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived in response to the 8:40 p.m. call, the Fire Department said. The fire was brought under control at 10:03 p.m. and extinguished at 12:44 a.m. Monday.

The Fire Department said the cause is under investigation and damage estimates weren’t available.

Kula, Makawao and Kahului engine companies, a Kahului Hazmat company and tankers from Kahului and Wailea responded to the fire.
