Maui Drug Court graduates Todd Abrams (from left), Robert G. Hill IV, Cody Keoki Shoji Walker, Randy A. Lane, Nicole “Coco” Spath and Victor Sandoval pose after last week’s graduation ceremony at Hoapili Hale in Wailuku. After receiving their diplomas and being congratulated by Circuit Court Judges Richard Bissen and Rhonda Loo and Maui Police Department Assistant Chief Jon Jakubczak, each graduate of the program’s 69th graduating class delivered a short speech. All graduates thanked the people who helped them get through the program, including Drug Court staff, Aloha House personnel, sponsors, employers and family members. They also spoke about how the intensive supervision and treatment program for nonviolent Class B and C felony offenders changed their lives by giving them clarity and teaching life skills, like the importance of accountability and balance. The graduation took place Nov. 21.
