WAILEA — Members of Halau Maui Nui O Kama sent participants in the 12th annual Shane Victorino Celebrity Dinner and Golf Classic out onto the Wailea Gold Course with a Hawaiian chant on Saturday.

Victorino, a former Major League Baseball player who won World Series titles with the Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox after growing up on Maui and starring in multiple sports for St. Anthony High School, hosts the event as a fundraiser for the Shane Victorino Foundation.

The foundation helps provide children in need with educational, recreational and wellness program primarily in Hawaii, Las Vegas and Philadelphia.
