Lahaina Christmas parade is Saturday

Lahainaluna High School’s state champions in football, basketball and wrestling will be honored during the fourth annual Lahaina Aloha Christmas Parade, which will start at 10 a.m. Saturday on Front Street.

The parade will start at the corner of Papalaua and Front streets and head south, ending at Banyan Tree Park.

The parade will include the Maui Fire Department, Managing Director Sandy Baz representing Mayor Michael Victorino, the Lahainaluna High School Marching Band and the Rotary Club of Lahaina’s vehicle/float, as well as other dignitaries.

Senior Pastor Laki Kaahumanu of Church on the Go will play the parade’s Hawaiian Santa Claus.

Front Street will be closed between Baker and Prison streets from 9:30 a.m. until the end of the parade, which is expected to finish no later than noon.

Due to permit and liability restrictions, walking in the parade or vehicle/float participation is limited to those authorized by the Church on the Go administration.

Kaahumanu Church President Joseph Pluta and the Lahaina Rotary Youth Foundation are sponsoring the parade.
