Bail still $10,000 in machete threat
WAILUKU — Bail was kept at $10,000 for a man who allegedly swung a machete at a security guard last month at Haiku Cannery Mall.
David Beasley, 54, of Kahului has pleaded not guilty to attempted first-degree assault.
He was arrested last week for the attempted assault on Dec. 16, according to court records.
Beasley allegedly swung the machete at a security guard who was checking on a company’s property at Haiku Cannery Mall, Deputy Prosecutor Mike Kagami said at a court hearing Tuesday.
Second Circuit Judge Peter Cahill maintained bail at $10,000.
Beasley previously was ordered to have no contact with the security guard and to stay away from Haiku Cannery Mall.
