Olelo to air weekly Legislature show

Oahu-based ‘Olelo Community Media will premiere its popular weekly “Live at the Legislature” show starting 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, and it will run weekly throughout the 2020 legislative session.

A major development this year is the expansion of the broadcast area — viewers on Maui, Hawaii island and Kauai will be able to view ‘Olelo’s cablecast on community-access stations Na Leo TV, Akaku and Ho’ike, respectively.

First launched in January 2018, the show focuses on the issues, legislation and topics of importance from each session. Each week, state senators and representatives will provide perspectives on issues from both sides of the aisle and chamber.

The show will air at 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays from the state Capitol until the Legislature adjourns for the year. It will repeat at 7 p.m. Wednesdays. A wrap-up show to analyze the 2020 session will air in mid-May.

“Live at the Legislature” is available on cable channel 49, and a livestream of the show will also be found at ‘OleloNet at www.olelo.org/49 and on the ‘Olelo Facebook page. Each show can also be viewed afterward at youtube.com/olelocm.
