ACLU sets advocacy tele-training session

The public is invited to a free advocacy tele-training session from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in Wailuku to discuss the American Civil Liberties Union of Hawaii’s most pressing issues facing the state and how people can get involved.

Coinciding with the state’s 2020 legislative session, the training will be telecast at Office of Hawaiian Affairs, 737 Lower Main St., Suite B2, Wailuku. It will run simultaneously with telecasts on Big Island, Kauai and Oahu.

Policy priorities include changing the state’s corrections approach, transparency in the prosecutor’s office and opposition to measures that “criminalize poverty,” among other issues.
