First responders wheel a female jogger to an ambulance Thursday morning in Paia. The jogger, who was headed northbound, was hit by a Toyota Yaris while crossing Hana Highway near Paia’s public parking lot in a crosswalk at 9:28 a.m, according to police. She told police she did not see any vehicles heading west on Hana Highway. She was struck by the vehicle’s left rearview mirror and transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries, police said. The driver was not injured. Impact damage to the car’s windshield is visible in the background. The car is stopped just outside the crosswalk.
