Fire burns brush, abandoned vehicles
A fire at the end of Piihana Road in Wailuku burned about 2,500 square feet of brush and 15 to 20 abandoned vehicles, according to the Fire Department.
The fire was reported at 6:16 p.m. Monday at the end of Piihana Road in Wailuku, behind and across the river from Maui Disposal on Imi Kala Street.
Engine 1 from Wailuku, Engine 5 from Makawao and Tanker 3 from Lahaina responded to the fire, which was contained at 7:20 p.m. and extinguished at 8:27 p.m., the Fire Department said.
The cause was unknown as of Monday night.
