Two new cases in Maui County, 29 reported statewide

There are 29 new COVID-19 cases reported in the state as of noon today, including two in Maui County, one on Hawaii Island, 25 on Oahu, and one resident diagnosed outside of Hawaii.

The state count is now 975. Maui County has 127 cases; Oahu, 701; Hawaii island, 91; and Kauai, 38. There have been 18 Hawaii residents diagnosed out of state.

The Hawaii Department of Health reported the 19th COVID-19 death statewide of an elderly adult on Oahu who was hospitalized with multiple underlying health issues. Of the total, there have been six deaths on Maui and 13 on Oahu.

The state Department of Health reported that 754 people have been released from isolation and 118 cases have required hospitalization.
