DOH reports 152 new cases, including one on Maui

The state Department of Health reported 152 new cases of COVID-19 in Hawaii on Sunday, including 147 on Oahu, three on Hawaii island and one each on Maui and Kauai.

There have now been 3,498 cases statewide, including 3,111 on Oahu, 185 in Maui County (including two on Molokai), 131 on Hawaii island and 48 on Kauai. Twenty-three residents have been diagnosed out of state.

Of the total cases, 1,548 have been released from isolation, 239 have required hospitalization and 31 have died, including three over the past week following a series of record-high daily totals and growing hospitalizations, mostly on Oahu, which has closed down its parks and beaches.

On Tuesday, the state will reimpose the 14-day interisland quarantine for all travelers arriving in Maui, Hawaii, Kauai and Kalawao counties.
