Molokai fire burns 20 acres
A brush fire in Hoolehua, Molokai, on Friday afternoon burned about 20 acres but caused no damage, according to the Maui Fire Department.
Fire crews responded to Puu Kapele Avenue in the 3 p.m. call, Fire Services Chief Rylan Yatsushiro said. Three engine companies, one emergency call back crew, two Fire Department tankers, the Fire Department’s Air One helicopter and county Department of Public Works bulldozers battled the blaze.
The fire was 100 percent continued by 5 p.m., Yatsushiro said. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
