Drive-thru testing slated for Lahaina

The Maui News

Maui County will hold drive-thru testing for COVID-19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the Lahaina Aquatic Center, Mayor Michael Victorino announced.

The aquatic center will be closed all day for the testing, while the Lahaina Recreation Center will be closed Monday morning and reopen at 2 p.m.

Participants should preregister at www.minitmed.com. While same-day registration is available, preregistration saves time and avoids paperwork and in-person interactions, the county said.

People should bring their ID, insurance card and a face covering.

Most insurances will cover the cost of testing. Those without insurance will be covered by the federal government.

Minit Medical also helped conduct 150 tests during a drive-thru event on Molokai on Wednesday, Victorino said. The county also passed out about 2,000 masks to participants.
